The St. James Hotel Scarlet Kitchen & Bar
Overlooking the Mississippi River at the historic St. James Hotel, Scarlet Kitchen & Bar was reconfigured as a contemporary hospitality environment grounded in context, material continuity, and use. As part of a broader rebranding initiative, the project included the comprehensive redesign of both the interior restaurant and rooftop patio, designed to function as a cohesive whole.
The interior renovation involved relocating the bar, reorganizing the dining room, and upgrading the commercial kitchen, while introducing custom furniture and lighting, improved circulation, and views to the river. Material selections draw directly from the local community, incorporating Red Wing pottery, handcrafted lighting, and leather from the Red Wing Shoe Company to reinforce regional identity.
