ELANCO. An animal Health Pharmaceutical company, a business on the cutting edge of technology is operating out of a facility located along a rural state highway in Larchwood, IA. This design concept positions it within the community to showcasing its culture and importance to the region. A standard steel building comprising of various additions is unified with a cohesive white body wrapped in materials that speak to the agricultural industrial context. Grey metal elements serve as a feature to direct to the activity that happens inside, this grey metal is treated in a couple different ways, to frame heritage imagery showcasing and rooting it into the local community. This material also serves as a tool for signage as well as imposing into the surface, through the use of positive negative space in the material, silhouettes of animals they work with. New glass encased stair towers and building lobby are prominently showcased as a representation of furture and technology.
