Myrtle's Fur Vault & Bar

Since opening in 2009, Parker’s Bistro has established itself as a chef-driven restaurant deeply connected to its community. Building on a long-standing relationship with the client, this project expands the existing space with the addition of a bar and lounge designed to complement the restaurant’s evolving identity.

The work reconnects two historic buildings: Parker’s, constructed in 1901, and Myrtle’s, a modest modern structure from 1934. Once used as a fur repository and later as an optometrist’s office, Myrtle’s was carefully examined through a process of architectural discovery. This investigation revealed a number of concealed features, including bricked-in openings, the original skylight bay (awaiting restoration), and steel-framed factory windows added during an early twentieth-century renovation.

The rear portion of the building now accommodates an expanded dining area that also serves as a flexible event space. The project balances preservation and transformation, bringing life to Myrtle’s while building onto the continuing story of Parker’s Bistro.
