The Minnesota Avenue Development Study is a mixed use urban infill project located in Downtown Sioux Falls. Our task was to create two design concepts, as well as preliminary programing for the development, under tight time constraints. This 7 level building includes 2 levels of underground parking, 1 level of Commercial space, 2 levels of Office and 2 levels of Residential. Important design considerations were given to 8th Street as a gateway into Downtown, the traditional building materials in its urban context as well as pedestrian interaction with the building on a heavily traveled vehicular corridor. This was a two day design exercise.
